A Step On binding that feels light, has decent response even at low speed, and is particularly strong in carves. The connection to the board is direct, so it takes aggressive riding well. The reviewer's conclusion, though, is that it doesn't deliver the natural board feel and freedom to work the board that a good two-strap gives, and they see it as neither clearly better nor worse than the Burton and Flux Step On options.

The highback is medium-soft, with a little straight lean and generous twist (about the level of the Burton Genesis). Flex underfoot is remarkably good for a Step On, approaching the Burton Genesis Step On — next to the Union Force or Nidecker Supermatic Carbon you immediately feel the board stiffening far less, and buttering was very easy. Impact absorption is nothing like the regular Atlas's: it uses a lot of EVA foam instead of hard rubber.
