It lets you fine-tune things like a loose instep with a tight ankle, and unlike BOA there's no cable to snap — with a spare lace you can replace it on the hill. In exchange, getting in and out takes work, and the laces can loosen mid-run and need redoing. Recommended for ground tricks, jibbing and beginners.
