#carving

A boot for anyone who wants better carving without a big outer footprint. It's aimed at speed- and carve-oriented riders who don't need low-speed excellence but don't want it to be dead weight either.

Even if freestyle isn't your thing, comfort and impact and chatter absorption are covered. Best on medium to stiff boards, and best of all right in the middle of that range.

What the review liked

  • ✓Good carving performance with a small outer footprint, which helps with boot drag
  • ✓Good at absorbing impact and chatter
  • ✓Stiff without being dead weight at low speed

What the review found lacking

  • —Too stiff for beginners — even intermediates need the size and strength to back it up
  • —Low-speed performance isn't a highlight
  • —If you lean freestyle, pick something else

#fit

A boot whose length is very accurate and whose liner resists packing out, so the fit lasts. The liner is thick at the top and thins toward the bottom, which holds your foot well.

Reviewers say the new calf velcro noticeably improves the fit over the previous TLS liner. The width is medium to slightly wide and suits D–E feet, though the reviewer also regrets the narrow toe box.
