The Rossignol Sawblade is a beginner freestyle board with rocker-based hybrid camber and a very soft flex, optimised for learning press tricks and playful riding on soft groomed snow. Insufficient high-speed stability and pop quickly reveal its limits to intermediate and above riders, but a reasonable price and high forgiveness make it a fine choice for beginners. It's an entry-level deck where an upgrade should be considered once skills develop.
Base shape (camber)
Hybrid rocker
A rocker-based hybrid profile (Amptech AutoTurn) with a small camber zone between the feet and rocker at the nose and tail. The rocker share is very high, so overall it feels close to a rocker board, while the centre camber provides minimal pop and torsional stiffness.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
A very soft flex with almost no torsional stiffness, so ankle steering is easy. The tip and tail are very flexible with only the centre camber section comparatively stiffer. Rebound is low and the board bends noticeably on landings.
Where it shines
Who it suits
Clearly a beginner's board, suiting beginners or lower-level beginner-intermediates. A lack of high-speed stability, low pop and weak rebound mean limits for intermediate and above riders.
