21/22 season review
This review does not directly cover the 26/27 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The Mermaid 151 provides a fun ride in both carving and powder through the snowsurf collection's characteristic directional hybrid camber and tapered design. Edge response is fast and it handles excellently, but chatter appearing at speed and in rough snow is a shame.
It's a board worth recommending to intermediate and above riders who want a distinctive feel different from everyday all-mountain riding.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Hybrid camber
An Excel Camber construction: camber starts near the back foot and runs to the tail, a flat section sits ahead of the front foot, and a touch of reverse camber (rocker) is applied at the nose tip — a directional hybrid camber profile.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
A medium to upper-medium stiffness that, in actual riding, is easy to handle with excellent manoeuvrability. It looks stiff but has flex characteristics combining responsiveness and agility.

Rider levels suggested in the review
Intermediate · Advanced
Strongly directional and highly sensitive to setup, it takes some experience with things like binding angles, suiting intermediates and up. Chatter can appear at speed, so it may be somewhat difficult for beginners.
What the review liked
- ✓Fast edge engagement and easy carve initiation make it highly responsive
- ✓The nose rocker construction secures float in powder and helps acceleration coming out of turns
- ✓The directional design and tapered shape provide a distinctive, fun sense of mountain exploration
What the review found lacking
- —Chatter develops at speed and in bumpy sections, reducing stability somewhat
- —A slightly loose feel on the snow limits precise high-speed riding
