A surf-style board specialised for powder and tree riding, with outstanding float and manoeuvrability in fresh snow thanks to its Christensen Surf Camber Rocker profile. It's great fun for buttering and tree riding, but high-speed stability on firm snow and ollie power disappoint somewhat. It comes strongly recommended to upper-intermediate riders wanting a dedicated powder board or a quiver addition.

Jones Snowboards' 'Christenson Surf Camber Rocker' profile: camber between the feet, a large rocker section at the nose and a small one at the tail. Additional camber under the back foot stores energy.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
A directional flex: the nose is quite soft because of the large rocker while the tail is stiffer than the nose. Underfoot is mid flex, and high torsional stiffness makes foot steering somewhat limited.
Where it shines
Who it suits
It suits intermediates and up who want to develop their riding. Specialised for powder and tree runs, it demands a degree of skill and is rather specialised for beginners.
Good
- ✓Outstanding float and handling in powder and fresh snow
- ✓The wide nose sweet spot makes buttering and nose presses very easy
- ✓Outstanding manoeuvrability and turning power in tight trees
- ✓The camber grips the edge effectively when carving, and Euro carves are possible
Not so good
- —The nose tends to waver in high-speed carves on firm or rutted (chunder) snow
- —The rockered, short tail gives it weak ollie power on groomers
- —Close to powder-only, limiting usefulness in everyday snow conditions
