The Nidecker Play is an entry-level deck for beginners moving from rentals to their first board purchase, letting them learn turns safely without catching an edge thanks to a flat profile and a soft flex. Despite a reasonable price it has basic pop and responsiveness, giving it the versatility to last one to two years. That said, it isn't suitable for aggressive intermediate-and-above riders, so an upgrade to a higher model such as the Nidecker Merc is recommended as skills improve.
