20/21 season review
This review does not directly cover the 25/26 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The 2022 Nitro Ripper Youth is a progression board for adolescent riders who have the basics down and want to build their skills through tricks and freestyle. A Flat-Out Rocker shape and radial sidecut let them learn techniques safely without catching an edge, and a lightweight poplar core plus an extruded base give it value and durability at once.
A reasonable price and a range of size options make it an ideal choice for growing riders.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Hybrid rocker
A Flat Out Rocker profile: flat underfoot with Early Lift applied at the nose and tail contact points — a hybrid construction that minimises edge catch, making it very friendly to beginners and progressing riders.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
Urban Flex makes it slightly stiffer than small Ripper boards but soft overall, providing a flex that emphasises flexibility so freestyle moves such as tricks and butters come easily.

What the review liked
- ✓The Flat-Out Rocker shape means less edge catching, greatly favouring learning tricks and butters
- ✓The radial sidecut makes turn handling easy and provides excellent controllability
- ✓A tip-to-tail poplar wood core allows light yet flexible riding
- ✓The extruded base makes maintenance simple with excellent durability
- ✓A reasonable price point suits growing adolescents moving on to the next stage
What the review found lacking
- —The soft flex places limits on high-speed carving and demanding hardpack riding
- —A board specialised for youth and progressing riders, so it isn't suitable for advanced riders
