The 2025 Gentemstick Flying Carpet is a 1,460 mm short board with flat camber and a pointy nose, a cruising board characterised by outstanding float in powder and smooth turns. It's an iconic Gentemstick model that carries a classic 1980s bottom design into the modern era, and it's easy enough to control that it's the first board recommended even to riders new to flat camber.

It's an all-mountain board that lets you enjoy easy handling on any terrain alongside its distinctive floating sensation.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Flat

A flat camber design — a classic base design that disappeared along with late-1980s ski technology and was revived by Gentemstick. Its base design suppresses snow resistance to maximise the floating sensation in powder, and as Gentemstick's signature design it has been adopted continuously and refined over time.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

A cruising board character emphasising soft, easy control, with a soft-to-medium flex. No specific flex figure is published.

The first model recommended to riders choosing a flat camber for the first time — a cruising board that's easy to control in any situation. It suits everyone broadly, from beginners to experienced riders.

What the review liked

  • ✓Excellent float in powder despite being a 1,460 mm short board
  • ✓A bottom design that suppresses snow resistance realises smooth, flowing turns
  • ✓Flexible, smooth movement on wall terrain and open terrain
  • ✓A cruising board character that's easy to control in any situation

What the review found lacking

  • —Compared with traditional camber, there may be some resistance lifting the nose in powder
  • —There isn't enough specific information on its drawbacks to characterise it in detail
