Expert reviews 1
The Ride Deep Fake is an advanced-oriented all-mountain carving deck with a Directional Extra Camber profile, whose core strengths are excellent edge hold, high-speed stability and strong damping performance. A stiff flex makes it outstanding in carving and attacking steep terrain, but it isn't suited to freestyle tricks such as buttering. It's a board strongly recommended when a technically skilled rider wants to test the limits in varied conditions.
Base shape (camber)
Hybrid camber
Ride's Directional Extra Camber profile. Camber runs from under the front foot back to the tail, with rocker applied at the nose — a hybrid construction. The camber zone provides power, pop and drive, while the nose rocker eases powder float and turn entry and exit.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
A flex stiffer than medium. Not a full plank, but stiff enough to be clearly felt during foot steering. The flex is evenly distributed from nose to tail, and even the nose rocker zone doesn't feel notably softer. You need to load it fully to draw out the pop.
Where it shines
Who it suits
A board designed for technical riders at an advanced level; a stiff flex and strong edge engagement make it hard for beginners and intermediates to handle. It's a performance-oriented deck suited to advanced riders.
Good
- ✓Outstanding edge engagement and hold deliver excellent carving performance across every range, from short carves to large ones
- ✓Urethane material makes chatter suppression very high with excellent stability, and high-speed stability is so good it effectively feels like there's no top speed
- ✓A rockered nose secures powder float and lets it respond flexibly to varied snow conditions
- ✓It provides springy pop performance, storing energy in the tail and releasing it as pop
Not so good
- —The stiff flex makes butters and press tricks difficult with noticeable resistance, so it isn't suitable for trick-oriented riders
- —The nose can sink in powder with a normal stance, so back-foot weight distribution needs care, and the barrier to entry is high for beginners and intermediates
