The Salomon Huck Knife is a high-performance freestyle board for intermediate to advanced riders who enjoy park and jumps, providing excellent pop and stability through a hybrid camber profile, carbon stringers and a Popster Booster core. Its distinctive design realising the power of a stiff board while maintaining a soft feel is its strength, and while it's a park-specific board it can handle all-mountain riding to a degree. It isn't suitable for powder or backcountry settings, so it's recommended to riders who mainly enjoy groomers and the park.
Base shape (camber)
Hybrid camber
A hybrid camber design maintaining strong camber through the middle with a touch of rocker at the nose and tail tips. It maximises centre power and pop while reducing edge catch and smoothing edge transitions.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
The Popster Booster core makes the overall feel soft, but a thick structure outside the bindings, triax mixed fibreglass and nose/tail carbon stringers deliver a stiff board's pop and power in practice — a dual-natured flex.
Where it shines
Who it suits
A high-performance park- and jump-focused board aimed at intermediate to advanced riders, not suited to beginners.
Good
- ✓The Popster Booster core combined with carbon stringers provides explosive pop and power
- ✓Nose/tail carbon stringers distribute pressure toward the edges, improving landing stability
- ✓Royal rubber pads absorb vibration and strengthen edge durability
- ✓A freestyle bevel reduces edge catching on metal features
Not so good
- —Unsuitable for backcountry settings such as powder and tree runs
- —It can be used as an all-mountain board, but achieving optimal performance outside the park is difficult
