The Gentemstick line consists of highly directional tapered boards built on a snowsurf philosophy, where front-foot driving and adapting to positive stance angles are essential. The Rocket Fish HP is the tightest and specialised for slow-speed carving, while the Chaser and Barracuda HP provide more stable, powerful carving. The Mantaray 56 is the most versatile, lowest-barrier everyman board in the line, accessible to a broad range of riders. Overall they demand a different riding philosophy from a normal snowboard, but once you adapt they deliver an unmatched slashing and carving experience.

Gentemstick boards are strongly directional tapered shapes with a nose wider than the tail, aimed at snowsurf-style riding. The Mantaray 56 carries some directional camber character, and overall front-foot driving is the core of how it works.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
It leans soft-to-medium overall; the Mantaray 56 demo model in particular has a somewhat soft flex. The Rocketfish HP is the narrowest and smallest board with a lighter flex too, while the Barracuda HP and Chaser family feel comparatively more powerful.

Who it suits
It requires adapting to a distinctive riding style — stance angles and width, front-foot weight distribution — and isn't suited to beginners. It suits intermediates and up interested in the snowsurf approach. The Mantaray 56 has a comparatively low barrier, so intermediates can approach it.

- —The HP models are recommended for boot sizes 9 and below, limiting their user range and raising toe drag issues
- —Very expensive (over $1,200), lowering accessibility, and everything except the Mantaray 56 ($799) sits in a demanding price bracket
