The Nidecker Gamma APX is a board that combines an asymmetrical twin construction with hybrid camber to provide high satisfaction across switch riding, carving and all-mountain performance overall. Compared with the base Gamma, pop is more dynamic and the base faster, with improved capability on irregular snow, but the spoon-shaped nose and tail limit buttering tricks. It's a model worth actively recommending to intermediate-to-advanced riders who enjoy airs, carving and switch riding rather than presses and butters.
Base shape (camber)
Hybrid camber
A camber-based hybrid profile with lifted sides (rocker) blended at the tips. It washes out less in most situations and makes skidded turns easy, and it has spoon nose and tail shapes.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
Medium-stiff between the feet with quite flexible tip and tail. It returns more energy and pop than the Gamma, with excellent hold and spring when carving.
Where it shines
Who it suits
It suits upper-intermediate and above riders. An asymmetric twin construction, medium-stiff flex and quick turn response are optimised for riders with some fundamentals. Switch riding is easy, so it's also recommended for intermediates wanting to improve their switch.
