Expert reviews 1
The hardest-charging all-mountain freestyle board in Burton's line, delivering explosive pop and high-speed stability through traditional camber, a stiff flex and carbon fibre construction. It performs outstandingly on jumps, in the pipe and in high-speed carves, optimised for riding fast and big rather than ground tricks or jibbing. It's a high-performance board that can be the first choice when an advanced-and-above rider wants powerful, precise riding in the all-mountain or the park.
Base shape (camber)
Camber
A fully traditional camber profile between the contact points, with considerable camber height providing powerful, precise, energetic riding characteristics. There's no taper — nose and tail widths are identical.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
The board in Burton's lineup that charges hardest, with a very stiff longitudinal flex, while torsional flex is somewhat easier to manage than the longitudinal. It's optimised for storing energy and launching into the air rather than for butters and presses.
Where it shines
Who it suits
The combination of a high-strength stiff flex and traditional camber is excessive for beginners and intermediates; it's designed for advanced riders to the point that the rider's stamina gives out before the board's limits do. For intermediates it's more board than park progression requires.
Good
- ✓Explosive pop and high energy return deliver outstanding performance on jumps and in the pipe
- ✓Traditional camber combined with a stiff flex secures strong edge hold and stability at speed
- ✓The carbon fibre laminate construction cuts weight while amplifying pop and snap
- ✓The Channel system allows unlimited stance width adjustment
- ✓The sintered base gives it excellent durability and glide speed
Not so good
- —The high stiffness makes ground tricks such as butters and presses difficult and requires adapting to the balance point
- —Torsional flex is limited at low speed and in technical jibbing, and it's unsuitable for beginners and intermediates
- —Little advantage in powder and soft conditions, limiting its versatility
