The Rossignol Rampage Vol.1 is a soft board optimised for park beginners through intermediates, centred on jibbing and presses, delivering far more versatile performance than expected. Despite the soft flex, pop and snap are alive, allowing fun riding off mini features and small jumps. That said, insufficient high-speed stability and damping make it unsuitable for large jumps or aggressive carving.

Base shape (camber)

Hybrid rocker

Rosal's Autotune camber profile: a hybrid construction with 30% camber between the feet and 35% rocker at the nose and tail. The central micro camber zone provides pop and snap, while the nose and tail rocker eases press play and turn entry and exit.

StiffnessHigher means stiffer

2/10

A very soft flex. The flex is concentrated at the nose and tail, and while the centre is comparatively the stiffest, it's soft overall. Torsional flex is abundant too, so it twists easily.

Who it suits

New
Intermediate
Advanced

It suits park newcomers and intermediates who want jib- and press-focused riding. A lack of high-speed stability and low damping make it unsuitable for advanced riders or those wanting big jumps.

Good

  • Excellent jibbing and press performance, with the nose/tail locking onto features well and a wide sweet spot
  • Pop is alive despite the soft flex, securing ample air off small jumps such as side hits and rollers
  • Excellent turn grip allows medium carves without washout even in slippery conditions
  • Excellent handling makes varied tricks such as butters, ollies and presses easy to execute

Not so good

  • High-speed stability is lacking, with the nose and tail flapping at speed
  • Insufficient damping makes it weak at absorbing bumpy terrain or sudden impacts, transmitting vibration into your body
  • Unsuitable for large jumps of 15 feet and above, with insufficient landing stability
  • Weak tail power places limits on aggressive carving
