The Ride Burnout is a high-performance freestyle twin with extremely hard stiffness in a Twin Extra Camber construction, showing its worth on large jumps and in hard carving. It's very weak at soft techniques such as buttering, jibbing and small features, and it's recommended only to heavier advanced riders with an aggressive riding style. As harshly as this board treats its rider, it delivers an intense, rewarding experience to A-level riders.

Base shape (camber)

Hybrid camber

Ride's Twin Extra Camber (twin cam-rocker) construction has very subtle rocker at the nose and tail tips with ample camber through the middle — a camber-based hybrid. The rocker at the tips eases turn entry and exit and provides a pressing sweet spot, while the camber section provides strong pop, snap and drive.

StiffnessHigher means stiffer

9/10

A very stiff board: even the rocker sections at the nose and tail barely flex, and the midsection is extremely rigid. Torsional flex is minimal and rebound is quick. It's stiff enough that buttering requires leveraging your weight rather than pressing.

Who it suits

New
Intermediate
Advanced

Very high stiffness and strong response make it hard for beginners or intermediates to handle. It's aggressive enough that the board can overpower the rider, and loading the camber and shaping turns demand a high skill level. It suits advanced riders, especially heavier hard-charging riders.

Good

  • Strong stability pushes through chatter and chunk without flinching, outstanding for high-speed riding
  • Powerful, explosive pop delivers excellent performance on large jumps
  • Smooth, powerful edge-to-edge transitions optimise it for deep, hard carving
  • Very high responsiveness and drive enable trench carving

Not so good

  • Extreme stiffness makes buttering and pressing very difficult and it's unsuitable for jibbing
  • Performance falls off on small features and small park kickers
  • High responsiveness risks bucking the rider off if they aren't ready
  • Short, fast turns need a lot of stamina and effort, making riding tiring
