The Rossignol Rampage Vol.2 is a snappy soft jib board, a product optimised for riders wanting to enter and progress in the park. A wide press zone, unexpected pop performance and respectable grip provide high fun in mini park sessions, but limits in high-speed stability and damping make it unsuitable for large jumps or hard-driving carving. It's a board with more versatility than expected for the price.
Base shape (camber)
Hybrid rocker
An Autotune camber profile: 30% micro camber between the feet + 35% rocker at the nose and tail. The centre camber section provides pop and responsiveness, while the nose and tail rocker secures press area and eases turn entry and exit.
StiffnessHigher means stiffer
A very soft flex with the flex concentrated at the nose and tail, the centre being comparatively the stiffest. Torsional flex is very supple so it twists easily — a snappy jib board.
Where it shines
Who it suits
A board for park newcomers and riders who want to progress in the park; rather than a beginner's board it suits park-oriented beginner-to-intermediate riders, and a lack of stability means limits for advanced riders.
Good
- ✓Excellent pop and snap for its soft flex allow use of side hits, rollers and small-to-medium jumps
- ✓Wide nose and tail butter/press zones lock in well and make techniques easy to execute
- ✓Excellent jib performance, cradling onto features well and springing out easily
- ✓Better grip than expected allows medium carves without washout even in icy conditions
Not so good
- —Insufficient high-speed stability makes the nose and tail buck at speed, and impacts transmit to your feet on bumpy terrain
- —Insufficient damping makes your body get shaken by sudden impacts
- —It lacks the stability needed to land large jumps of 15 feet and above
- —Tail power limits are clear when driving hard carves
