#carving#flex

The strongest binding for riding fast, carving, and for when you need support and control on bumpy terrain. It isn't the very stiffest and retains a little forgiveness, but it's clearly mid-stiff or above.

The highback twist is asymmetric, far stiffer on the inside than the outside. Pairs with boards 6–9/10 flex.

What the review liked

  • ✓Excellent power and control at speed and in carves
  • ✓Good support on bumpy terrain
  • ✓Not the very stiffest, so a little forgiveness remains
  • ✓The highback's differing inside and outside stiffness responds differently by direction

What the review found lacking

  • —Not a fit for beginners or relaxed cruisers
  • —You have to push hard to get its performance out
  • —Overkill on soft boards (5/10 and below)

The Good RideRead source

Stiffer and more responsive than the Atlas, at the cost of less vibration damping and impact absorption. The highback is clearly stiffer than the Atlas's — the Atlas gained a channel in its highback that made it easier to twist with more lean-back, and this one doesn't have that.

The reviewer says they prefer the Force and Atlas's extra give because of calf bite, but adds that it isn't bad by high-end binding standards.
