25/26 season review
The Nidecker Beta APX is a directional all-mountain freeride board combining nose rocker with camber, suited to riders who enjoy both powder float and groomer carving. Its predictable, consistent ride character makes it easy for intermediates to adapt to, though somewhat lacking stability when running straight at speed is a drawback.
It's a universal performance board strongly recommended for freeriders who chase powder while still enjoying groomers.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Hybrid camber
Naider's 'Surfy Cam Rocker' layout with rocker at the nose and camber across the rest of the board. The camber section provides pop, snap and drive, while the nose rocker improves ease of turn entry and exit and powder float. A directional shape.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
A predictable flex with an all-mountain freeride bent. The nose is more playful thanks to the rocker, and stiffness stays consistent from where the camber begins to the tail. Torsional flex engages easily but rebound isn't quick, giving a muted, subdued feel.

Rider levels suggested in the review
Intermediate · Advanced
Predictable, consistent riding characteristics make it accessible to a range of riders. Chatter and instability appear in high-speed straight running, so some technique such as knee absorption is needed, suiting intermediates and up rather than beginners.
What the review liked
- ✓Excellent float and popping ability in powder, making side hits and rollers easy to use
- ✓Edge-to-edge transitions are fluid and smooth, handling everything from short carves to deep aggressive carves
- ✓Its consistent, predictable ride character provides familiar comfort
- ✓Appropriate support for freestyle elements such as nose butters and 180 presses
What the review found lacking
- —Chatter and flapping appear at the nose when running straight at speed, and stability is somewhat lacking
- —Tail butters need more pressure than the nose, and the swallowtail means edge pressure needs managing when running sideways
- —Rebound isn't fast and feels muted, which may fall short for riders wanting high responsiveness
