23/24 season review
This review does not directly cover the 26/27 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The Nidecker Play is an entry-level deck for beginners moving from rentals to their first board purchase, letting them learn turns safely without catching an edge thanks to a flat profile and a soft flex. Despite a reasonable price it has basic pop and responsiveness, giving it the versatility to last one to two years.
That said, it isn't suitable for aggressive intermediate-and-above riders, so an upgrade to a higher model such as the Nidecker Merc is recommended as skills improve.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Flat
A flat profile with a low risk of catching an edge, providing very forgiving riding. It isn't a full rocker; the flat base secures moderate stability.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
A soft flex providing very flexible, forgiving riding. It has more pop than a rental board and responds appropriately when you load it.
