Snowboarding ProfilesRead source

An all-mountain freestyle board that puts 3BT on traditional camber to eliminate catch. Effortless turning and low-speed agility are its strengths, and it handles jumps, spins and butters alike.

High-speed stability and ice edge hold are lacking, though. It suits freestyle-heavy riders who want a camber board but on the soft, playful side.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Camber

Traditional camber, but Bataleon's 3BT (triple base) makes the actual feel quite different from standard camber. The lifted contact points mean no catching. A directional twin with light setback and a sintered (Hyperglide S) base.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

A medium-soft flex (4/10). Turns come round effortlessly without feeling flat. It's agile at low speed and easy to butter.

Rider levels suggested in the review

Intermediate · Advanced

Forgiving and catch-free so it's easy to handle, but with clear limits at speed and on ice, it fits intermediates and up who know that character going in. It suits lighter riders especially well.

What the review liked

  • ✓3BT eliminates catch and turns come effortlessly
  • ✓Broadly strong across freestyle elements — jumps, spins and butters
  • ✓Agile and playful at low speed
  • ✓Especially good on side hits and small kickers — 13th of 33 all-mountain freestyle boards (85.6/100)

What the review found lacking

  • —Unremarkable at speed and it gets unstable past a certain point
  • —Ice and hardpack edge hold disappoints
  • —The centred stance means it isn't suited to deep powder
  • —Less stable overall than stiff all-mountain boards
