#flex

The Rome Muse is an all-mountain freestyle board with a camber-dominant directional twin construction that provides fast edge transitions and excellent pop and snap. A softer flex combined with bamboo hot rods makes it usable across varied settings including park, backcountry and street, and switch riding is very natural too.

For intermediate and above riders, it's a board that delivers satisfying performance regardless of terrain.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Hybrid camber

A camber-dominant board that keeps a twin shape between the contact points in a directional twin construction. Camber-based, it has excellent snap and pop, and bamboo hot rods raise nose and tail responsiveness.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

A softer-flexing board with a soft flex that maintains camber's snap and pop while making press tricks and jibbing easy — a balanced flex suited to both on- and off-piste.

A soft-to-medium flex that's neither too hard nor too soft suits intermediates and up; switch riding feels natural and it covers terrain from park to backcountry.

What the review liked

  • ✓Edge-to-edge transitions are very fast, with excellent stability and responsiveness on hardpack
  • ✓Strong camber-based pop and snap favour big airs and tricks
  • ✓The directional twin construction makes switch riding natural and comfortable
  • ✓It can be used versatilely across varied terrain including park, backcountry and street

What the review found lacking

  • —The softer flex can impose limits in high-speed carving or extreme powder settings
  • —Camber's character carries edge-catch risk, which can make it somewhat difficult for beginners
