23/24 season review
This review does not directly cover the 25/26 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The Nitro x Volcom Ripper is a kids'/youth snowboard designed for child and adolescent beginners, providing an easy-to-learn, forgiving ride experience through Flatout Rocker and a radial sidecut. Its twin shape suits park and getting into tricks, and size-matched flex design makes it a board that can grow naturally alongside a child.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Hybrid rocker
A Flatout Rocker profile: flat underfoot with Early Lift (rocker) at the nose and tail tips — a hybrid construction providing catch-free, forgiving riding.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
A soft flex: smaller sizes (86–126) use Soft Drive Flex (a spiderweb structure) to induce natural bending, while 136 and up use a standard core. Overall it provides a light, snappy soft to medium-soft flex.

New · Intermediate
Flat underfoot with Early Lift prevents edge catch in an easy-to-learn construction, a design that supports the progression of child and youth beginners and intermediates; it isn't suited to advanced riders.
What the review liked
- ✓Flatout Rocker provides catch-free, forgiving riding that's easy for beginners to learn on
- ✓A radial sidecut (single radius) realises predictable, stable turns
- ✓Soft Drive Flex on smaller sizes provides a natural flex matched to a child's weight
- ✓The combination of a Power Core (poplar wood) and Bight laminate secures light weight and snap
- ✓A premium extruded base is easy to maintain with excellent wax retention
What the review found lacking
- —The soft flex and beginner-oriented design leave performance lacking for advanced riders
- —The extruded base is somewhat inferior to a sintered base in speed and durability
