23/24 · 22/23 · 21/22 season review
This review does not directly cover the 25/26 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The Rome Stale Fish is a directional all-mountain board that improved snow contact and moved the stance closer to centre through a redesign. It's strong in both powder float and groomer carving with high refinement for the price.
Switch riding and jibbing aren't part of the picture.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Directional camber
A directional camber where camber runs from near the tail to just past the front inserts. Lifted sides and a diamond nose reduce catching while maintaining stability.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
A medium to medium-stiff flex at 6.5 out of 10. Good snap and spring keep the response springing out of turns alive.

What the review liked
- ✓Good powder float even though taper is reduced from the previous model
- ✓Strong carving on groomers with the edge biting in decisively
- ✓Versatile enough to lap the resort all day
- ✓Good pop and spring feel coming out of turns
What the review found lacking
- —Very low switch riding performance
- —Hard to handle in front-foot-centred carving
- —Unsuitable for jibbing
- —Loading the front foot excessively produces a washy feel
