#carving#flex

The WRX MK-CW is a mid-wide all-mountain carving board optimised for a riding style that engages the edge actively from the first half of the turn. A soft flex and fast torsional recovery make it lighter and easier to handle than expected, but adapting to the wide waist requires adjusting your riding technique.

It's a board worth recommending to intermediate and above all-mountain and carving riders.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Hybrid camber

A camber-based hybrid profile where edge grip engages strongly from the first half of the turn and torsional recovery is fast. Combined with a mid-wide shape, edge grip recovers quickly.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

A comparatively soft flex — light to handle and quick to respond despite being a wide board. It recovers quickly from torsional twist.

Rider levels suggested in the review

Intermediate · Advanced

Its width and length can make it hard for beginners to handle, but it suits intermediates and up who have learned to apply pressure through the first half of the turn. The wide waist demands precise timing and weight shift, so it isn't recommended for beginners.

What the review liked

  • ✓It forms powerful edge grip from the first half of the turn, giving it excellent carving performance
  • ✓The mid-wide shape gives it fast torsional recovery with excellent edge-grip restoration
  • ✓Lighter and easier to handle than expected, comfortable to use across varied terrain
  • ✓Switch riding is handled stably too

What the review found lacking

  • —The wide waist means users coming from standard-width boards need time to learn the edge-angle feel
  • —Applying excessive pressure in the back half of the turn can make the board feel like it sticks, requiring precise timing control
