26/27 season review

The Good RideRead source

For riders who wanted the flagship but balked at the price. It does not have that board's legendary damping, but it is fun, poppy and fairly easy to ride for this much camber.

It turns well and works as a versatile freeride board. The gripe is that the set-back does not line up with the reference stance, so easy directional float is limited.

Hybrid camber

Mostly camber. It is surprisingly easy to ride for having this much camber.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

5/10

Medium — poppy, and it will butter reasonably well.

#powder#flex

A freeride board that puts a tapered directional outline on what is effectively full camber. The medium flex makes it forgiving for a camber board, and the pop and rebound out of turns make it fun to throw around.

Damping is lacking, though, so your line gets knocked around on rough snow; powder float disappoints relative to the setback; and the extruded base limits glide. It suits lighter upper-intermediate riders who want to ride groomed slopes and steeps playfully.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Camber

Traditional camber running essentially tip to tail, with only a very subtle early rise laid on top. The outline is tapered and there's 15mm of setback, but in practice it feels closer to centred than directional.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

5/10

Biax glassing with a poplar Omni core sets a medium flex. It's soft for a full camber freeride board, so it's forgiving with good pop and turn rebound. Damping is lacking, though, so it slaps back the surface at speed.

Intermediate · Advanced

Full camber, but the soft flex makes it forgiving for a freeride board. Damping is lacking, though, so lines get bounced on rough snow and high-speed stability is low, fitting intermediates and up with solid fundamentals — especially lighter riders.

What the review liked

  • ✓Good pop from the full camber, with a lively ollie response
  • ✓Good rebound out of turns, making it fun to throw around
  • ✓The soft flex makes it forgiving for a technical full-camber board
  • ✓Playful on groomed slopes and steeps

What the review found lacking

  • —Lacking damping, so it gets bounced off line on choppy snow
  • —Powder float doesn't deliver as expected despite the setback — it feels centred
  • —The extruded base is a disadvantage for glide and speed
  • —Not enough support for heavier riders (around 84 kg and up)
