21/22 season review
This review does not directly cover the 26/27 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The Nitro Cheap Thrills is a true twin specialised for park/freestyle riding such as rails, butters and presses, based on a flat camber profile and a soft flex. Durability-focused technology such as Railkiller edges and urethane sidewalls stands out, and its reasonable price makes it broadly usable from freestyle beginners to park-oriented riders.
That said, a narrow waist and limited high-speed stability make it best suited to park-focused riders rather than carving or powder.

Board profile
The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.
Flat
An almost fully flat profile with a touch of rocker blended in just before the contact points at nose and tail, giving it a less catchy feel and favouring presses and butters.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
On the soft side of medium, it's the softest twin in Nitro's lineup. It's soft and playful overall without feeling crushed or mushy.

Rider levels suggested in the review
Intermediate · Advanced
Rather than park beginners, it suits intermediates learning freestyle fundamentals and advanced park riders focused on rail and butter tricks. A soft flex lowers the barrier to freestyle, but it shines most for experienced riders who enjoy technical rail tricks.
What the review liked
- ✓Railkiller edges (double-thickness metal edges) provide excellent durability in rail and urban riding
- ✓The combination of flat camber and a soft flex optimises it for freestyle tricks such as rail lock-ons, butters and presses
- ✓Adopting an extruded base makes maintenance simple and home repairs easy
- ✓An 8.3m sidecut gives it respectable carving performance for a park board
- ✓It sits at a reasonable price point of around $400
What the review found lacking
- —A 248mm waist width at the 152 is narrow, disadvantaging riders with big feet or a preference for aggressive edge angles
- —A flat profile with no camber lacks high-speed stability, placing limits on large jumps
- —Almost no powder performance, so the stance must be set as far back as possible in fresh snow
- —The soft flex places limits on fast, precise carving
