24/25 season review
This review does not directly cover the 25/26 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.
The 2025 Gentemstick Baby Mantaray 148 is a hard-flex board with a rocker-based hybrid construction and 1 mm of camber, and it floats well enough to make its 148 cm length feel irrelevant. It delivers the pure joy of riding across varied environments — powder, tree runs and side banks off the piste — and it particularly suits women riders with sufficient leg strength and lighter advanced male riders.

Hybrid camber
Based on a rocker line with 1mm of camber applied — a hybrid. A micro-camber construction that enhances free, dynamic movement.
How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.
Specified as a Hard Flex, with a high-stiffness construction optimised for high-speed riding and responsiveness.

Advanced
Designed with a hard flex, it targets women riders confident in their leg strength (Speed Queens) and lighter male riders who prefer a light, responsive board — a board that demands advanced technique.
What the review liked
- ✓Outstanding buoyancy despite its 148 cm length, delivering excellent float in powder
- ✓Versatile across varied snow and terrain including deep powder, tight tree runs and side banks off the piste
- ✓Beautiful rocker lines and design give it high visual polish
- ✓Light and highly responsive, allowing nimble riding
What the review found lacking
- —The hard flex makes it unsuitable for beginners and intermediates
- —Designed to target lighter riders and stronger women riders, which limits its general versatility
