24/25 season review

This review does not directly cover the 26/27 model you are viewing. Specifications and ride feel may vary by season.

YouTubeRead source

An all-mountain board whose core feature is offering two bend options: the standard with flat plus directional rocker, and the Gateway Pop with camber plus rocker. An aspen core with ICG10 carbon stringers secures low weight and pop at once, and the Gateway Pop in particular has edge grip on icy snow as its strength.

It's an all-mountain deck suited to riders progressing from intermediate to advanced.

A closer look

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Hybrid rocker

The base Gateway is flat between and under the feet with early rise toward the nose — a flat plus directional rocker layout. The Gateway Pop version has camber between the feet with rocker blended outside it, a hybrid camber construction, so two bend options are offered.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

5/10

No direct flex figure is specified, but an aspen core with ICG10 (ten carbon stringers) provides a medium flex that is light while retaining pop and durability.

Rider levels suggested in the review

Intermediate · Advanced

True to its name, it's conceived as a gateway to higher-level riding, designed to suit intermediates raising their level or advanced riders using it in all-mountain settings.

What the review liked

  • ✓Two bend options (Gateway / Gateway Pop) let you choose by riding preference
  • ✓ICG10 carbon stringers improve pop, durability and responsiveness with no weight gain
  • ✓The Gateway Pop's camber construction provides strong edge grip on icy, firm snow (particularly Midwest conditions)
  • ✓The standard Gateway's flat plus nose rocker construction supports surfy, playful riding

What the review found lacking

  • —The extruded base may be slower and take wax less well than a premium sintered base
  • —Designed around all-mountain rather than dedicated powder or backcountry performance, so terrain-specific performance is limited
