#flex

A complete overhaul: a little more camber, a different shape, a much narrower stance location, a little taper and a little more directional. It is a very easy riding board, but the flex is massively softer — to the point where it could be a deal breaker for many looking for something in between the brand's directional twins and freeride boards.

Hybrid camber

A complete overhaul: a little more camber, a different shape, and a much narrower stance location. It has a little taper and is a little more directional.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

Medium-soft, and massively softer than the model before it. Buttering is easy.

From beginners to advanced riders — a very easy riding board.

What the review liked

  • ✓A very easy riding board
  • ✓Easy to butter
  • ✓Holds an edge even on icy snow
  • ✓Also comes as a splitboard

What the review found lacking

  • —The flex is massively softer, which could be a deal breaker for anyone looking for something between the brand's directional twins and freeride boards
  • —The much narrower stance location feels unfamiliar if you expect the old ride

#carving#flex

A board that has chosen beginner-friendly playfulness in its recent overhaul. Its soft flex makes buttering and pop easy and hardpack grip has improved, but it gives up high-speed carving and advanced-rider capability.

Hybrid camber

A hybrid camber with slightly more camber toward the tail and a similar amount of rocker at the nose. Taper is increased over the previous version.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

3/10

3 out of 10 — very soft. It's softened dramatically from the previous generation, close to a jib-park flex, so butters and ollies are easy despite the directional shape.

Rider levels suggested in the review

New · Intermediate

Its main target is beginners to intermediates. Forgiving and stable, it's good for starting out, but it doesn't carry through to advanced level the way the previous generation did.

What the review liked

  • ✓Improved hardpack edge hold gives it good grip
  • ✓Good pop and playfulness make tricks easy
  • ✓Forgiving and stable for beginners
  • ✓With a setback stance it can handle powder

What the review found lacking

  • —The flex is too soft, so chatter arrives at speed
  • —Unsuitable for aggressive carving
  • —Insufficient support landing large jumps
  • —Unlike the previous generation, it can no longer bridge all-mountain and freeride
