#carving#powder

A tapered directional short-wide board suited to riders who want to enjoy groomer carving and powder float at once. Hard-snow specialisation and base glide disappoint somewhat, but it delivers a consistent, fun ride across varied conditions.

It's a dependable option when intermediate and above riders want all-mountain riding.

A closer look

These descriptions and scores are linked to this review. They may differ from manufacturer specifications.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Hybrid camber

A hybrid camber construction with mellow camber running nearly to the tail, considerable early rise at the nose and a touch of early rise at the tail as well. It catches an edge rarely and has good stability on the flats.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

6/10

The section between the feet is somewhat flexible, but overall it's medium to medium-stiff. Both tail and nose are comparatively stiff, providing a poppy, energetic flex.

Rider levels suggested in the review

Intermediate · Advanced

Little edge catch, easy skidded turns and high all-round usability make it suitable from intermediates to experts. That said, sizing matters and it isn't suited to beginners.

What the review liked

  • ✓Tight, fun turn radii when carving groomers and drawing circle carves
  • ✓Excellent powder float for a short-wide design
  • ✓Consistent riding across varied snow conditions
  • ✓Good pop on ollies and airs, providing satisfying rebound
  • ✓All-round usefulness suiting a broad range of rider styles

What the review found lacking

  • —Somewhat insufficient edge grip on hard snow (ice), requiring care in carve turns
  • —Base glide performance is mid-pack compared with competitors at the same price
  • —The directional design makes it unsuitable for switch riding
  • —Tracking on complex irregular terrain such as side hits disappoints somewhat
