25/26 season review

The Good RideRead source

A low-budget board that provides fun well above its price point. It stood up to much more expensive boards in the same line and in many ways shone.

It feels stiffer on snow than its rating suggests and this construction is damper in soft, uneven snow. It has great pop and excellent drive out of a turn, regular or switch.

A great mountain freestyle board for anyone who loves side hits and riding switch but still wants to carve and hit the pipe or a kicker.

#carving#tricks#flex

An old-school park twin built on traditional camber, delivering a consistent ride specialised for jibbing, buttering and freestyle tricks. Its flex between a full noodle and middle-of-the-road, plus predictable pop, are its strengths, but it's limited in hard carving and on large jumps.

It's a nostalgia board suited to riders who miss the old Stairmaster's feel or intermediate-and-above riders who want a camber twin park board.

Board profile

The profile describes the curve of the board when viewed from the side.

Hybrid camber

A Spring Break Resort V1 camber profile: traditional camber with a small flat section just before the contact points. In practice it loads and provides pop, snap and drive almost identically to traditional camber, while the flat sections act as press points at the nose and tail.

How stiff is it?Closer to 10 means stiffer. It does not mean better performance.

4/10

A true twin with a flex pattern that is soft at the tips and stiffens progressively underfoot. It's neither a complete noodle nor middle-of-the-road, sitting somewhere between. Torsional flex is somewhat muted and rebound isn't quick — slightly delayed but predictable. For a Capita build the core has volume, giving it a settled feel.

Camber's characteristic edge catch and the possibility of hooking at the contact points make it unsuitable for beginners. It suits intermediate and above riders familiar with park, jibbing and buttering, especially those who enjoy an old-school park style.

What the review liked

  • ✓Consistent pop and snap close to traditional camber give it a familiar, predictable ride feel, like a board you have ridden 100 days
  • ✓The press sweet spot created by the flat sections at nose and tail locks in naturally during jibs, butters and slides, holding well right to the end of the feature
  • ✓The hooky character of the contact points provides extra torque on flatland tricks such as cab spins, keeping that distinctive old-school feel
  • ✓Enough flex to absorb impact on rutted terrain, with stable riding and no tip flapping

What the review found lacking

  • —Camber's character risks the contact points hooking in hard carves, making it unsuitable for aggressive carving
  • —Insufficient pop limits it on large jump lines and ollies over high obstacles, requiring you to actively pull your knees up
